Weekend Style: Shinny Heart

How was your Labor Day weekend?  Ours was very chill.  Other than supporting an event on Saturday afternoon, I just chilled with Peyton and attempted to tackle cleaning my closet (read about it here).  The rain all weekend didn't help with getting outside.  We managed to barbecue on Monday while it was drizzling.  Overall, I enjoyed the much needed chill time!

Joe Fresh Back to School Style for Boys & Girls

It's hard to believe that some kids have already headed back to school.  Peyton starts pre-school on Monday!  I've only picked up a few things.  It's still hot so I have some time to work on her fall wardrobe.  I' decided to go through some of my favorite sites to shop for Peyton and share our picks for boys and girls.  First up is Joe Fresh kids!  This Canadian line is new to the internet streets and available online and in stores at JC Penny's.  The prices are going to knock you off your feet!  Check it!

What I Wore #BlogHer13

You know how you have these big plans on wearing all this cute stuff when you head out of town?  Then you go out of town and you are running around like crazy and you don't wear half the stuff?  Yeah, that happened to me for BlogHer!   I packed the usual two outfits per day, one for day and one for night.  Well the nighttime outfits didn't happen because I was still running the streets from earlier that day!  I had good intentions!  Here are the few outfits that I did wear.

Tribal Prints & A Birdie Baby Shower

While I was in Chicago last week, I stepped away from the BlogHer activities to co-host a baby shower for my niece, Curvie Birdie.  We both grew up in Chicago so she wanted to have her baby shower there so she could celebrate with family and friends.

Colorful Mommy + Me Photo Shoot

I am beyond excited to share a recent Mommy & Me photo shoot with Kimberly Murray Photography. Kimberly contacted me with a task beyond just taking pictures with Peyton.  Kimberly challenged me to flex my styling muscle in coordinating our outfits with out being too matchy.  For family photo shoots, folks typically pick one color and everyone wears it.  She gave me a few themes and I ran with them.  The first one was summer brights.

FabKid 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!  I'm sorry but Peyton is shutting it down on this post!  Baby Girl is showing Fashion Bloggers how it is really done!  With no direction but a "Be Still" and "We can get ice cream if you do good" Peyton werked it!  Check out Peyton in her 4th of July look from FabKids.

Lounging with MVL

My school teacher bun has been in full effect this past week! I rocked my bun and loungy-esq outfit to my friend Katrice from My Vicarious Life event that took place at the beautiful Quest Women Spa + Fitness center in Alpharetta, GA.  Quest Spa is gorgeous and down the street from my house!

Weekend Style: Jason Wu

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Mine was a little less than horrible!  I hate to say that because things could always be worse but it wasn't too enjoyable!  My mom had a falling incident in the middle of the night, followed by an ER visit to make sure nothing was broken.  Poor Peyton had a fever on and off and kept throwing up on my free time in the middle of the night!  Oh... and I was on call for work and the poop hit the fan!  But don't cry for me Argentina.  I made it to Tuesday and  praise God everyone is doing well now!

On the bright side, we attended a graduation (Yay Sherica!) and my oldest sister was in town for the weekend.  The graduation was when Peyton started to get ill.  You can tell my baby doll wasn't feeling well in these pictures but she was a soldier trying to get her pose on!

Style Me Friday: White Tee

This weeks Style Me Friday inspiration is the White Tee!  If you don't have a fresh white tee you better go out and get you one!  This is not really a new trend for me.  I always try to keep white (or black) tees on deck.  I love wearing a tee with a fun skirt or under a blazer.

Weekend Style: Mad Plaid

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  This weekend was another semi lazy one for me!  Maybe I did too much in 2012 because it has been tough for me to get out of the house on the weekends!  I just want to lay around and play with Peyton.  If I don't get out before noon I just wait till after Peyton's nap.  No fun taking a 2 year old out with out a nap!

Weekend Style: Top Knot & Moto Boots

How the weekends just fly by!  I hope you guys had a great one.  We had a busy Friday and Saturday!  A doll party on Friday night with Peyton, shopping at the Neiman Marcus + Target collab on Saturday,  a little shoe shopping and attended a event honoring Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx (details on these events to come).  I even missed a few events!  By Sunday I was beat down!  Peyton rocked her top knot and new motorcycle boots for dinner at Grandma's house.

Weekend Style: Leopard

It's Monday already!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Our weekend was spent preparing for family that is coming to town for Thanksgiving.  Why is getting ready for guest so much work?  Or is it because I have neglected my house?  We did manage to make it to church on Sunday.

Hair + Hip Hop

Friday Night I attended the Hair + Hip Hop event at the fabulous Glam Bar hosted by Lexi of Curls, Coils and Kinks and Danielle of Style + Beauty Doctor with celeb hair stylist Gabi and Love + Hip Hop Atlanta star K Michelle.  I love hair and I love hip hop, so you know I was pumped for this event!

A lot of folks are sleeping on JC Penny!  I am hear to tell you they have some of the cutest dresses.  I have nice collection JCP dresses that I love.  Unless some one told you, you would not think these dresses were from JCP!

Found: Knee Boots

I have been on a mission to find Peyton some knee boots for the fall.  I am surprised how much boots for babies cost.  Sorry, I can't spend $50 on boots she will wear for a few months, I mean I would but I don't think it's necessary.  I find boots for myself for $40!  Before I left for Blogalicious I went to JC Penny's and found these...

They are faux suede slouch knee boots for $20.  Peyton looks so cute in them with her little bow legs!  I will have a picture of her wearing them soon!

I don't know if you are familiar with the Okiedokie line at JC Penny's but it is so cute!  They are great everyday play clothes.

I found this sweatshirt at Target for $1.50!   Can't beat that!
