Mamanista Fridays Link-Up: Fall Hats

Happy Mamanista Friday!  Temps are crazy low across the country this week.  Now we can pull out those cute coats from last year!  I totally forgot about most of my fall and winter coats from last year.  It was like shopping in my own closet.  In addition to wearing fly coats this season, I love wearing hats.  I'm a hat girl.  I grew up in a COGIC church where the ladies wore hats every Sunday.  I've been told I wear hats like a First Lady. LOL!

Fall Florals

If you were waiting for it or not, fall is in full swing.  Recently, I've been participating in a heated fashion debate at work.  Because Atlanta is still pretty warm, high 60's, the question is do you dress for the weather or the season?  Being the fashion girl that I am and I love fall fashion, I always say dress season appropriate.  I'm not saying if it hits 70 degrees you have to wear a sweater or wool coat but it's time to put up those summer dresses, booty shorts and linen pants away.  It pains me to see someone wearing Easter colors in the fall if it isn't a sweater or a coat.  There are several ways you can dress for the weather and still be season appropriate.  I found the perfect fall floral peasant top for the season.

I mentioned earlier this week that I was planning on wearing a lot of black this season.  I'm kicking off my quest for this weeks Mamanista Friday leather style.  I'm also introducing you to my new "mom" bob.

All Black Everything for Fall

Since I've started blogging and reading blogs, wearing all black has gotten a bad rap.  Everyone one talks about adding pops of color and mixing patterns.  Myself included.  But black and gray are my favorite colors.  I've never been a "pink" girl.  I guess that is why Peyton doesn't wear a lot of color.  I buy what ever color looks best on me and that's usually black.  We all know that black is slimming!  I need all the "slimming" I can get.  I decided to embrace my love for black this fall and rock all Black when I feel like it.  Here are some awesome all black pieces that I have my eye on for this fall.

Happy Mamanista Fridays!  I've decided I need to get a clone.  This week flew by and I had tons of stuff to do but only managed to get to about 20% of it.  I guess it happens to the best of us.  This post almost didn't happen either but I got my self together.  This weeks Mamanista Friday, Mama Fashion Files and I are wearing animal prints.  I'm so glad animal print is still going strong.

Mamanista Fridays: Booties

I always rush season changes, especially fall because it's my fave!  I'm so ready for fall I don't know what to do! I almost feel like staying in the house until it's 60 degrees out.  I'm tired of my wearing tank tops and painting my to nails.  I just want to wear boots and cute jackets.  Mama Fashion Files and I thought it would be great to incorporate some transitional pieces for Mamanista Fridays.  We pulled out our booties, a fall must have!

Happy Mamanista Friday!  Friday couldn't come fast enough this week.  Not that I'm going to get any rest this weekend but it's good not to be locked in an office.  Mama Fashion Files and I are sporting casual looks this week featuring gingham.

Jump Jump

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was action packed (as usual).  Peyton had another professional photo shoot on Saturday and I thought it would be great idea to go to an MC Hammer concert outside that evening.  Between sweating and dancing, I was drained on Sunday.  One piece of clothing I wanted to wear this summer was a jumper.  Since I look more like Humpty Dumpty in a jumpsuit, I figure I'll just live through Peyton.

Because Nordstrom marks down NEW items for fall before fall even starts!  Where else can you get new released leather boots for 30% to 40% off before fall?  If you are a Nordstrom cardholder you can shop the sale NOW!  The sale opens up to everyone on July 18th.  My strategy is to go for the good stuff like boots, coats and handbags.  That is the stuff you have a hard time getting a deal on during the fall and winter season.  Below, I listed some of the items I can't wait to get my paws on.

At Home Pedi 101 #NMBeauty

A few months ago I was watching a 20/20 (or Dateline) special and they were talking about how bad nail salons were.  It totally grossed me out.  As if I wasn't already freaked out, they interviewed a lady that had to some of her leg removed because of an infection at a nail salon.  Yeah, it feels good to have your feet rubbed but it's not worth me losing a leg.  With the proper tools, you can achieve summer ready feet.
