People don’t grind for no reason at all. No one just wakes up and say, I’m going to “Go
hard today” with no motivation behind it. Yeah, we got bills to pay, gotta keep the
lights on and eat. But what is the real
motivation? I could easily say Peyton motivates
me to keep grinding. She does motivate
me to a certain extent, because I want her to have the best life possible. But person that motivates me the most is my Mom.
After starting this blog, I have been blessed to connect with some amazing women that are beautiful, smart, driven and just good people. Being in the in the company of these awesome women is nothing short of inspiring. Even though I'm getting close to *clears throat* to forty, I know I can still peruse my dreams. Some of y'all may not know I used to have my own jewelry line, clothing company, and styling (I still do). After having a Peyton, my attention was focused on her.
God put the thought of starting a blog with her in my head, even though I didn't really know what a blog was. And here we are! I'm saying all this to say, we can be moms and still go after our dreams. I recently hosted Cocktails and Connections networking event at K. Logan Hair Salon. The place was jammed packed with Atlanta area business women and entrepreneurs. I appreciate K. never think about how important it is to have snacks readily available until
you have a child. Leaving the house
with out snack is the main ingredient for a disastrous outing. Ever been at the mall a little longer than
expected right before lunch or dinner? Or, attend a birthday party where they
only serve cake? When this happens you
end up feeding your child fast food options.
I would rather save that option for emergency (or lazy) situations.
I survived another awesome blog conference! Blogalicious, the conference that celebrates diversity in the social media community, took over Atlanta last week. The crazy lady that I am, I wore a few hats during the conference as well as trying to maintain the Baby Shopaholic household since it was in Atlanta.

Today kicks off the 5th annual Blogalicious Conference! This year the conference is being held in Atlanta! WooHoo! I didn't have to travel ($$$)! This isn't my first Blogalicious rodeo! I went two years ago when the conference was held in DC. I wasn't even a year into blogging when I went but I made some of my greatest connections there. Before starting this blog I had no idea on what went on in this corner of the internet world. Now I'm hosting events, doing sponsored post and headed to blog conferences. Who would have thunk it! Just like doing anything you love, you have to keep learning. To learn more in this blogosphere world you may need to attend a conference or two. Every conference is different so before you go you have to sit down and think of why you are going. It could be to attend workshops, meet online friend in person, network with brands, attend parties, meet like minded people or to just get a few days away from the kids! All of these are very good reasons to go. Since BlogHer was in my hometown of Chicago that was more than enough reason for me to go. I am thankful to see another year! We rang in the New Year at church with Peyton. I really didn't feel like going to church but what better way to end the year and bring in the new. I thought Peyton would fall asleep at church before midnight... WRONG! That sister stayed up until after midnight! It felt like it was one of the longest church services of my life! But I am happy because I got to bring in the New Year with Mister and Peyton.
I am very excited about this year! With the New Year comes change! The blog will be getting a much needed makeover! I plan on working bootleg photography skills to bring you guys better pictures. I also would like to add some new features to the blog that will allow others to participate. I would appreciate if you would take this 2 question survey below.
