For the fifth year, Atlanta-based Carter’s Babies and Kids is proud to partner with the Pajama Program’s “One Million Good Nights” campaign to donate 100,000 pairs of pajamas to children in need. The Carter’s pajama donation drive comes at a critical time as December marks “Danger Season,” the time of year when temperatures begin to drop leaving underserved children in need of warm sleepwear and comfort. Many of these children have been abused, abandoned or neglected and live in group homes, shelters or temporary housing without adequate heat. The gift of a new pair of pajamas can provide children in need with a glimmer of hope and a feeling that someone cares about their well-being. Every child deserves to sleep in their own pjs every night!

Minted Baby Announcements + Giveaway
When I had Peyton, I only knew of a few places to go to get birth announcements. I mean, they were cute because they had Peyton's newborn picture on them but other than that, it looks like I just sent out a 4x6 print with some writing. Being the crazy shopping mama that I am, I would have liked to send out announcements that say "Yas Honey! I have arrived!" Too bad I wasn't familiar with Minted at time because their announcements will help your baby make a grand entrance.

Partying with Babiators
Last week, we had such a great time at the Babiators launch party for the spring collection at the Baby Braithwaite store in Buckhead. Since we were checking out the new Babiators shades, I thought it would be fitting to wear this bright yellow dress.

Shea Moisture Baby for Sensitive Skin
I've had several girlfriends share with me that their babies have sensitive skin and the struggles they have finding the right products for them. I was fortunate that Peyton didn't have any sensitive skin issues but I still like to use the best products on her skin. I've been using Shea Moisture Organic Baby products for well over a year. Shea Moisture has expanded their baby line to include a new Ultra-sensitive, fragrance and gluten free baby healing lotion and mild wash.

Silky Wraps: Kids Hair Bonnet Review + #Giveaway
It's the little things that get me excited! This Silky Wraps Kids Bonnet is one of them! As women and a women of color, nighttime hair protection is serious business!
I have worn a scarf or bonnet forever to prevent my hair from breaking, frizzing and to keep my extensions looking good! I never thought about using one for a child. Duh... their hair needs the same attention! In the past I have purchased adult bonnets for Peyton that don't fit or I cut up satin scarves for fit her head to only have it come off during the night. We all know how unattractive they can be! Mister hates them! I am so happy to introduce you to Silky Wraps!

Shea Moisture Organic Baby Products Review
I think it is super important to know you have options for products for your baby. I am pumped to tell you about the Shea Moisture Organic Baby care products. I am sure most of you are familiar with Shea Moisture hair products that are pretty awesome (talking about it HERE). I could only guess that the children's products would have to be on the same HIGH level.

Hair Products Peyton Hearts
Peyton has a lot of hair. Her hair is a work in progress but I am asked all the time what I use in her hair. Looks like other moms have the same issues. The popular "Baby" shampoo's never worked for her. When she was born there were no options like Cara B and Shea Moisture for babies. I had to try other products more suitable for her hair. I'm not ingredient obsessed but try to stick with products that are free of parabens, sulfate and harsh alcohols. You should definitely use what works best for you. Here is a little info about about the ingredients.
Parabens: Preservatives that can mimic estrogen. Estrogen and babies doesn't sound like a good mix to me.
Sulfates: Detergents that produce lather. Can cause eye irritation, dry skin and tangled hair. I will use a product with sulfate every once in a while for a deep cleaning. Not for weekly washes.
Harsh Alcohols: Evaporate quickly and will cause dry hair cuticles, therefore drying out the hair.
Here are some our favorite products that we use on the regular and why we heart them! Of course not at the same time! LOL! Depends on the style.

BabbaBox Review
I am super pumped to share this review of Babba Co's BabbaBox! BabbaBox is like a Birch Box for children! Instead of beauty products it is filled with activites for kids! Cool huh!
The Babba Box is subscription box delivered monthly with ALL the physical materials plus know-how content to really engage with your kids. Each month features a new theme-based box filled with activities, knowledge, and experiences that encompass all the ways kids love to learn!
This is what I saw when I first opened the box! Neat O!
Every month the Babba Box has a different theme. April's box theme is Sun, Moon and Stars. The box is then broken down into 4 components: Create, Explore, Story Tell, and Connect.
Explore: Peyton can use the binoculars to look at the moon and record the shape.
Create: There is a kit for your child to make their own constellation
Create: Making a paper mache planet.

My eyes first went to the star wine stopper! A gift for the parents! Love how they thougth about us! Now they have me hooked!

Story Tell: Box included a book about stars.
I thinks BabbaBox is a brilliant idea! Now this box may have been a little advanced for Peyton since she is not even 2 but I can try and alter some of the activities. Box is great for ages 3-6.
I am ignorant when it comes to putting together activities for Peyton, outside of coloring and painting. BabbaBox does it all for you. Once you open the box you don't have to move! No running to the store spending a ton of money trying to make up an activity that could be a major fail and not necessarily teaching the child. I think every parent should give BabbaBox a try!
BabbaBox is also a great gift for other children in your life. BabbaBox offers differnt packages. Regular monthly membership is $29.99/month.
Are you familiar with BabbaBox? How do you come up with new learning activities for your child?

February Birch Box and a Great Moisturizer!
Yeah I said it! February. Sorry for posting about the Birch Box so late but I wanted to try out some of the products first. Too bad I didn't.
The February Birch Box left a lot to be desired. I was not thrilled about anything in the box. I do plan on using the Eye Rock Designer Liner tattoos. To my surprise... I received a second surprise special addition package from Birch Box with Vichy products. Never heard of them.
Great full size samples of skin care products.
I am a sucker for a great moisturizer so I tried the Aqualia Thermal Cream Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care cream immediately. Let me tell you it is the best that I have ever used! I purchased a full size one immediately! It was only $30! I normally spend over $50 on my current moisturizers. My forehead, which is huge, usually flakes because my skin is so dry. No more flakes after using this! If you have dry skin, get this immediately and thank me later! You can get it HERE.

I also tried the face wash a few times. I think its good but I still love my Bobbi Brown lathering tube soap.
How was your Feb Birch Box? Let me know if you try this moisturizer and how you like it!

Atlanta Diaper Relief
Last Tuesday I attended Cocktails for a Cause at Nancy's Pizza benefiting Atlanta Diaper Relief. I complain about buying diapers all the time, but could you imagine if you could not afford them and had too keep your child in the same diaper all day or longer? Atlanta Diaper Relief is a incredible organizations that help provide those in need with diapers.
Kia Morgan Smith, the founder of Atlanta Diaper Relief and I. I don't know what my scarf was doing! Atlanta Diaper Relief was recently awarded 50K diapers from Huggies! Awesome job Kia!
Ronnie and Lamar Tyler from Black and Married with Kids
Joyce Brewer from Mommy Talk Show and author of Use What You Know: A Business Idea Guide for Moms.
This was a fun night connecting with these amazing people. I learned a lot about what the Atlanta Diaper Relief does and that I need to help.
Here are some fact about families struggling with diaper needs for their babies.

This was a fun night connecting with these amazing people. I learned a lot about what the Atlanta Diaper Relief does and that I need to help.
Here are some fact about families struggling with diaper needs for their babies.
- Safety-net programs such as the Food Stamp Program and WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) do not cover the cost of diapers.
- An adequate supply of diapers can cost over $100 per month.
- 1 in 20 women cleaned out or re-used soiled diapers.
- The vast majority of licensed day care centers do not accept cloth diapers, and require parents and caregivers to provide a steady supply of disposable diapers.
- Most people living in poverty do not have affordable access to washing facilities. Furthermore, most coin-operated Laundromats do not allow customers to wash cloth diapers for health and sanitary reasons.
- Uncomfortable babies cry and don’t sleep well at night—this leads to poorly-rested and higher-stressed parents and siblings, which can contribute to illnesses, absences and reduced performance levels at work and school.
- Nonprofits working with individuals and families in crisis list diapers as an ongoing and TOP need.
