Weekend Style: Party Casual

Happy July!  I hope you guys had a great weekend.  Last weekend Peyton and I celebrated my blogging buddy, Charee Lenee's son 1st birthday!  Seems like she was just pregnant!  Please excuse the pics, I took them with my phone long after the party.

Weekend Style in DVF

There is just not enough time in the weekends!  I hope everyone had a good one!  Our weekend was action packed!  I managed to take Peyton to one of my BF's baby Elijah 1st Birthday Party!

Peyton rocked a DVF (Diane  von Furstenberg) top for Gap Kids.  You guys know how in love with this line.

Peyton's nautical jeans are from Old Navy, $12.  Red Mary Janes are from Target, $5.

Up until til this picture, after we got home, Peyton was not cooperating with the camera.  As much as I paid for this shirt, Peyton decides to have a blowout shortly after this photo and getting it on her DVF!  She normally goes early in the day but of course she had to go at 5pm and mess up her top!  We had a long conversation about how you don't go poopy when you are wearing DVF!

We finally made it to this little cutie pie's first Birthday Party!  How cute is Elijah dressed up as a train conductor for his Train themed party!  Elijah showed up early last year so he was able to attend his own Baby Shower.  Check out his Sip n See HERE.

I was so proud of Elijah's mom for making this train banner with a picture from each month.  Love it!

What did you ladies get into this weekend?  Any blowouts after you get them all dressed up or put them in something new?  LOL!

Birthday DIYs

First order of business...  One of the Best Sales of the Year start today.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  This is the sale where they bring out new fall merchandise at 20% to 50% off!

Since I started blogging I have found so much information and inspiration!  I am in no way a party planner, I just thought I would pass on some info that helped me in planning Peyton's party.

Pinterest is a great place to start for ideas but Pin just doesn't work for me : ( Boy could I have used that. About three months before Peyton's birthday I started looking for kid party blogs.  There are many but I got most of my inspiration from Kara's Party Idea's.  I you are planning any party, young or old, showers check out this site.  The Party Dress is also a good one, a lot of adult parties and shower inspiration here.

First I looked for the invitations.  I took to the usual, Shutterfly, Tiny Prints and Etsy.  The invitation that I really like was about $2 each.  I think that is a lot per invitations, especially when you need like 40.  So I went on Etsy and found out that people are willing to customize the invitation.  I went with Sprinkled with Sugar to make the invitations. I paid $8 and she sent me a digital image.  I uploaded the image to Walmart.com as a 4x6 print.  I paid 9 cents a print. That's less then $4 for 40 invitations.  I had them printed at the closet store and picked them up.  I purchased a box of envelopes for $4.  So for $16 I got 40 invitations in no time flat!

I made these tissue Pom Poms.  I saw these everywhere!  I had no clue they were so easy to make.

I used this tutorial from Style Berry to make them.  Super easy!

I also made this banner.

I found a quick tutorial here.  I modified some things.  I printed the letters in color on card stock paper and cut them out instead of buying letters to trace.

I alternated patterns for the background.

I wanted cupcake toppers.  I searched Etsy but I thought paying $2 per topper was crazy.  That's more then the cupcake it's self.  I figured I could make those as well.

Googled outlines of butterflies and got a ton of pictures to chose from.   I printed them out and cut out the shapes and used those to trace on the scrapbook paper.

I bought the lollipop sticks from Walmart for like $2.  I used tacky glue to glue the stick between the butterflies.

I hope you guys can find this helpful.  As you can see they were all pretty easy.  What are some things you guys are making these days?

Peyton's 1st Birthday: Gifts

Peyton received some fabulous gifts for her 1st Birthday!  A ton of clothes and toys!  I guess I will have to wait till fall to shop.  I wanted to share with you guys some of the gifts that Mister and I got her.

I found these beautiful gold butterfly earrings with Cubic Zirconia (trust me I wanted diamonds maybe next year) at JC Penny.  I thought that would be a perfect gift for her Butterfly themed party!

Mister didn't tell me before that he bought her this beautiful music jewelry box with crystals that is engraved with her name and birth date.  As a little girl, I remember wanting a jewelry box... Good job Mister!

Earrings and Jewelry Box! I want her to keep these forever to remember her 1st Birthday!  What will we do next year....

Do any of you have gifts from your early years that you kept?  I don't so I want to make sure Peyton does.

Oh... I am kind of back at it again this weekend.  I am hosting a Baby Shower on Saturday with a couple of other ladies.  It's actually a Sip n See!  My friend had her baby 6 weeks early.  Early right!  But he was still almost 7 lbs!  Baby is doing great and we can't wait to celebrate his arrival this Saturday!

Go Shorty, It's Ya Birthday: Part 1

So Thursday was Peyton's 1st Birthday!  I took the day off to spend with her.

We started the day by taking her to breakfast.

She wore this white halter dress from Burlington for $9 with her Carter's sandals.

That afternoon we went to the pool.

Saturday was the big Party!  I hate that I don't have more pictures on my camera.  I was running around trying to be the Hostess with the Mostest.  So until I get pictures from friends this is what I got for right now.

Lets start off with Peyton's 1st outfit... Yes I said 1st : )
Here is Peyton with my mother wearing a sequin Nicole Miller kids dress from Nordstroms.  Nothing says Party like sequins!!!  I didn't get a chance to take more pictures of her in the dress : (  So here is the dress by itself.

Check out the shoes!
I got them from Payless!  They were $15.  I tried to find them in my size but they were sold out.

Here is outfit #2!
My little Cupcake decided to have a photo shoot in front of this cupcake!  She is wearing a bubble romper from The Ladybug Custom Kids Clothing.  This shop owner was great, she worked with me to find the right pattern and color combinations by sending me pictures.  Head over and check her out and tell her Baby Shopaholic sent you for free shipping!

Party theme was Butterflies.

Here is the banner and tissue poms I made.

I made this collage of her 12 months on Walmart.com.

Butterfly cupcake toppers I made.

Here is her Butterfly cake.  Pretty cool!

I will share details on making the decorations soon.

I have to thank by BFF Tahnee and her Mother Dorinda for putting these tables together!

We had Pizza, Wings, Pasta Salad, Deviled Eggs, Cheese and Crackers and Fruit cups.  The fruit cups were a big hit!  Surprising!

Again I don't have pictures but here are some of the highlights!

Peyton was having a blast just running around the house with the kids.

Then we turned on the music and bubble machine. FAIL.  It started off good but we have hard wood floors and next thing I know kids starting hitting the floor like they were slipping on banana peels!  Peyton included.  She got a little shook up.

Time for the smash cake!  FAIL!  Peyton enjoyed everyone singing and applauded when we were done.
As much as Peyton loves throwing her food on the floor she was not feeling the cake.  She touched it and had this "this is gross" look on her face.  So no good cake smash pictures : (

Overall I think the party went well.  I think the kids had a great time (besides falling).  I know Peyton had a ball.  I want to thank everyone that came out to party with my Lil cupcake!  Mimi from Lip Gloss and Binky came by to party and take pictures!  Can't wait to see them!

Again, I want to say Happy Birthday to Mister!  I love you and pray you have many more!!!  I feel bad that Peyton and his birthday are a few days apart.  We didn't forget about you!

Happy 1st Birthday Peyton!

I can't believe I am typing this!  My daughter is 1 year today!  It's not fair how fast they grow up!  This has been an amazing year!  I praise God for a Happy and Healthy Baby!  We are truly blessed!  So here are her 12 months!

Here are pictures from Peyton's One Year pictures we had taken at Picture People.

ANTM Pose

The dress she is wearing was handed down for Lady Lexi.  The pant outfit is from KKnoodles but she currently doesn't have any inventory in her shop : (.  I purchased this when I meet her at the Children's Boutique Sale in Feb.  Shoes are from Payless, $4 during BOGO!

I can't believe my cupcake is 1 year already.  She is so sweet and has so much personality.  I am blessed to be her mother!
