Partying with Babiators

Last week, we had such a great time at the Babiators launch party for the spring collection at the Baby Braithwaite store in Buckhead.  Since we were checking out the new Babiators shades, I thought it would be fitting to wear this bright yellow dress.

Shea Moisture Baby for Sensitive Skin

I've had several girlfriends share with me that their babies have sensitive skin and the struggles they have finding the right products for them.   I was fortunate that Peyton didn't have any sensitive skin issues but I still like to use the best products on her skin.  I've been using Shea Moisture Organic Baby products for well over a year.  Shea Moisture has expanded their baby line to include a new Ultra-sensitive, fragrance and gluten free baby healing lotion and mild wash.

GrUVy Wear Review

July 4th is tomorrow!  Can't wait to have a day off and EAT!

Peyton received this cute active swimwear from GrUVy Wear!  As hot as it has been in Atlanta we need it!

GrUVy Wear specializes in protective swim wear that offers a UPF of 50+, blocking over 98% of the sun's harmful rays.

No matter the color of your skin you need to be protected from harmful rays!  UV rays can cause sunburn, aging and of course cancer!  Kids have to be protected from the UV rays at birth!  Most damage is done before kids reach 18 years old!  I think GrUVy Wear is a great product for kids to wear especially if they are outside for an extended period of time.  This a great option for the water park, boating, and jet skiing.

Ready to go mom!
Peyton in her hang ten pose!

Here are some other Sun Safety Tips:

  • The sun is at it's strongest between 10am - 4pm.  Try to seek shade during these times
  • Wear protective clothing!  GrUVy Wear has got you covered!
  • Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before heading outside.
  • Wear shades to protect your eyes.  Another reason to wear fabulous shades!
  • If your child gets sun burned apply pure Aloe Vera gel and you can use ibuprofen or acetaminophen to relieve pain

GrUVy Wear has protective clothing for babies, kids and adults!  You can even mix and match tops and bottoms to match for team sports or add bling details!

GrUVy Wear is offering 15% off to Baby Shopaholic readers until July 15!  Use code SAVE1549 at checkout

What do you do to protect yourself from UV rays?

I received a complimentary outfit from GrUVyWear in exchange for this post.  All opinions expressed are my own

Coastal Blue Ocean: I Heart My...

Hey Ladies!  We have Coastal Blue Ocean sharing with us what she Hearts!  She shares beautiful beach pictures and also is in to healthier living!  Enjoy!

Hello All, I am happy to contribute to the I Heart series from my blog Coastal Blue Ocean.

First, I would like to share some of the products I Heart available on my Shaklee web site.
I Heart these shakes because they're easy to have when you are on the go in the morning. Chocolate is my personal favorite.

I heart these powdered vitamins for babies. They provide you with an alternative if your baby won't drink their milk if you put in the liquid kind.

I heart the eye make up remover that is half the price of the department store brand that I used to purchase. I'm always on the hunt for a great deal these days.
I heart these cleaners that make our (yes hubby too) work easier keeping our home clean for our family and they are non toxic!

I heart the PBK boppy "slipcover".
It comes in chamois and you can have it monogrammed. We purchased pink and had our baby girl's first name put on it. Little secret. I now use it to prop up my laptop while reading blogs.

We are still hearting this stroller that we purchased with the carseat.

Ladies, doesn't this one remind you of a coach bag print?

Trina, Thank you so much for having me. I love to share what I Heart!  I think that health and safety are really important features.

Best,
Coastal Blue Ocean

Thanks Coastal Blue Ocean for sharing!  Since P is walking I have been trying to be careful of what products I use, so I need to check out Shaklee! That boppy cover would make a great gift!

Breastfeeding and Fabulous!

Breastfeeding and pumping is tough!  The time it takes, the pain and what it does to you ta-tas!  But the benefits for baby out weigh all that!

Here are some thing I used while pumping that helped tremendosly!

I had the Medela Pump in Style - this thing is a workhorse!  I was pumping around the clock every 4 hours for 6 months!  I had no problem with it.
This right here...  This pumping bra from Pump Ease, was one of the best things that every happened to me!  It allowed me to be hands free when pumping.  When I went back to work  would read magazines, talk on the phone, handle bills  etc...This bra was about $30.  I got a zebra print one...Spicey!   I passed mine on to one of my girl friends.

I stored a lot of milk and the Medela storage bottle were very expensive.  I found that the Evenflo bottles conected to the pump and only cost $4 for 4 bottles!

Lansinoh Storage bags.  I went through storage bags like it was nobodies business.  I found these to be the best ones.

Nuk thin breast pads - These are the thinnest ones out!

Soothing Breast Wipes - so you don't smell like a cow when your done!

I love this little bottle of dish soap!  I wash the pump parts with it.

Don't forget to load your pump bag up with:
Baggies (quart size)  for dirty or clean pump parts
Disposable clothes to clean parts on the go
Magazine or book to read while your in your lactation room

Here are some site I found helpful for Breastfeeding tips and questions:
Kelly Mom
Breastfeeding.com
The Bump Community

I hope these items can help all the new mommies and future mommies to be!  Please feel free to comment with your pumping/breastfeeding must haves!

Baby Must Haves!

Today is the last day to enter the giveaway!!!

One of the reasons I started this blog is because people were either asking me what do I use or I was telling them how much I loved a certain product.  I have a couple of girlfriends that are preggers or just delivered so I want to make sure I post more about baby products.

These are my opions, no sponsors yet

Here are some of my Top Baby Must Haves!

Itzbeen Timer:  I read so many great reviews on this product before having P.  I don't know what I would have done with out it.  Every time baby would eat I would hit the bottle button.  Diaper changed... hit the button.  So when you are delusional from only getting 30 mins of sleep for a week, you don't know how long its been since baby ate, when you pumped, or when you changed a diaper.  This is a solution!

Snap and Go Stroller: This stroller is light and easy to use.  This is great for traveling, you don't have to worry about the airline tearing up your big stroller.

Boppy Pillow:   I never would have thought I would use this so much!  Of course I used it breastfeeding.  Peyton actually like to sleep propped up in and when she started siting up we used this.

Bumbo Chair:  These are a little pricey but I think they are worth it.  Once your baby has neck control this starts them to getting used to sitting up.  Use it as a high chair for feedings. I recommend buying the tray also.  You can stack toys on it for baby to play with.  Warning:  Once they start crawling its a wrap for the chair.  Peyton gets in and out of the chair.  Try Craigdlist or EBay to get one for a reasonable price.

Bouncer: We still use this even though her legs are almost touching the floor.  This is the only thing P can't get out of.  Don't break the bank on bouncer, they all serve the same purpose. At first I really wanted that space ship looking one at BRU with the arm that would move baby in different directions.

What are some of your baby must haves and why???  I would like to put together a big list that can help new moms with info from REAL moms : )

**** Sorry for my lack of comments on your blogs, something is up with Google not letting me leave comments (HATERS)!  I have been reading!!!

Peyton is Rollin!

Peyton is now riding in her pimped out convertible car seat.  She should have been in it a few months ago because she is so big!  She is rolling in the Britax Advocate 70 CS.

Mister and My mother need a car seat for Peyton.  The pimped out seat stays in my car.  While in Target I saw they had Cosco convertible seats on sale for $35!  So I got two!

These seats had decent reviews I figured it will work for Peyton since she won't be riding in them full time.

We also grabbed these cute items!

The romper was $6, shorts $4.50 and Beatles onesie was $3.50!  Cute play clothes!

I think Target is now my go to spot for baby gear!  I got this jogging stroller back in January.  Where do you find the best deals on Baby Gear?
