The Secret to Movie Night

Going out for dinner and a movie with Mister are non-existent now that we have a child.  Even if it were easy to get out to the movies, who has 2 hours to sit in a movie theater?  The last time my husband and I went to the movies I sat there thinking about clothes that needed to be washed and folded, I gotta pick up some diapers on the way home, and what emails I need to respond to.  In the words of Sweet Brown “Ain’t no body got time for that!”  LOL!

Since I am about 3 years behind in movies, there is always something new for me to see on TV or DVR.  The Baby Shopaholic crew chooses to have movie night at home and to make the family movie night successful I need the following:

  • A big bowl of delicious Pop Secret popcorn:  This keeps Peyton pretty still as she tries to finish the bowl one pop at a time.
  • Sippy Cup:  Not much longer after we get settled and the movie starts getting good, Peyton will utter the words…”I need a cup Mommy”.
  • Glass of wine for Mommy:  A must for me!

I have learned that as long as popcorn is involved and Peyton can cuddle with mommy or daddy and not have to go straight to bed, she is not too picky about the movies we watch.  Beforehand, I try to give Peyton a bath and get her into her pajamas in hopes that she will fall asleep after she overdoses on Pop Secret popcorn!

At Pop Secret, we love movies as much as you love movies. So we’re on a mission to make movie watching and popcorn even more social and fun. We’re sharing a bunch of apps, tools, and fun partnerships with everyone over at our hub, Pop Secret Labs (http://www.popsecretlabs.com/).  Keep checking back to try ‘em all out and give us feedback. The more you get involved, the better all of our movie experiences will be. See you there!

These are my Secrets to Movie Night and they include some delicious, buttery Pop Secret popcorn!  What are your "Secrets" to movie night?  Does your movie night include Pop Secret?

  4. I don't have any kids, but I also haven't been to the movie in ages!!!! By the time you get into the crowded theater and buy popcorn (the best part about the theater) and drinks, you've spent over $20. I'm all for the economical movie night. Get your popcorn from the grocery store and pop in a movie!
