Weekend Style: Faux Leather + Fur

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  Days like this I wish I had a Government job!  I could use the day off!  Peyton has been having these coughing fits that take place mostly at night (of course).  Doctor said it may be allergies because she has been seeing a lot of kids with allergies already.  Let me know if you have experienced the same thing.

I had a busy Saturday which means I was dead tired on Sunday.  I decided to let Peyton pick her pieces this weekend.  She was too cute laying pieces on her bed and saying "This match Mommy".  I must say she did better than I thought.  Even though she put together her outfit, she wasn't in the mood to take pictures.

Shirt, Baby Gap/ Faux Fur Vest, Children's Place/ Leggings, Nordstrom Rack/ Leopard Loafers, JCP

I wish I could say I did those braids in the back but I didn't!

I picked up these leather looking leggings at Nordstrom rack in the fall and she never wore them.  I pulled these out for Peyton to build her outfit around.  She picked out the Gap turtle neck, good choice because it was long enough to cover her little booty.  She picked out the fur vest to wear over and leopard shoes.  I thought she did a decent job.  She didn't like the pants after she got them on so we changed them after I took the pictures.  That may be why she wasn't in the mood.  I think the pants are so cute!  I hope she lets me put a look together with them this Spring.

At what age did your kids start telling you what they want to wear or picking out their own outfits?  I am sure I have some fun times ahead!

  2. Peyton did a great job, love the outfit. Madison picks her outfits on the weekend. She's very opinionated and that can cause major meltdowns! Get ready!

Madison has had a cough on and off since around xmas time. It comes and goes. It's so annoying. We've taken her to the Dr. twice but they mentioned giving her children's allergy meds - 1/2 teaspoon - at night to help her sleep. The Doc told us she's too young for cough and cold medicine. There is one all natural cough medicine that she recommended by Little Remedies, it's Honey Elixir. It works but Madison hates it. We do the baby vicks rub down at night as well and lots of liquids during the day. I hope she feels better.

  4. Love those pants, too funny she took em off. I still dress Layla. She shows NO interest in dressing herself....and right now, I am ok with that. :)

p.s. Layla had whooping cough and it presents itself as coughing fits. Has she thrown up from one?

  5. Moo started trying to dress herself as soon as she hit age 3. Now at age 4, she is definitely more vocal and opinionated about her clothing and hair. Sometimes, I accommodate her and other times I have the final say and that's that. She is getting better and learning what clothes match and what clothes to you were to different events like playdates, church, etc.

  9. Peyton is too adorable! My daughter had a nagging cough and her doctor said that she was draining which causes her to cough. We used allergy medicine along with a warm mist humidifier that you add vapor steam to. Cleared her right up. I hope she feels better.

  11. She is toooo cute! My daughter has also had a lingering cough and her docotor prescribed her with asthma meds, which did absolutely nothing for her. I thought about using a warm mist humidifier, but those things wet up everything. :O/

My Munchie hasn't gone as far as picking out her own outfits, but she insists on wearing her purple butterfly rainboots with EVERYTHING!! She has a fit if we try to put on another pair of shoes (she cries and pulls them off). :O)

  13. Visiting from the link up---your daughter is adorable! My oldest is 3.5 years old and recently has been wanting to pick out her outfits. Drives me crazy because she always wants to wear the same couple outfits over and over again---even though her closet is packed full lol. :-)
