Miss Jessie's was a sponsor of the
Pre-New Years Bash that I attended recently. The swag was incredible! There was full size
Miss Jessie's products included! I have never tried
Miss Jessie's on Peyton, mainly due to the price. I did not want to spend the money since I didn't know anything about it.
You all know Peyton has a ton of hair and it is a battle and a lot of work to try and comb a 1 1/2 year olds hair! To add, I don't know how to braid! All I can do is the two pony tails and try and twist it. Peyton hair can be really dry and
kinky curly! So I try to use organic or sulfate free products on her hair.
This is Peyton's typical hair after I have done all I can freshly styled!
So that is what I am working with.
I washed Peyton's hair with the
Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo. I LOVED it! It after washing her hair did not feel dry and it was easy to comb out. Trust me, I can tell right away when her hair is easy to comb out. So if you need help in the detaingling department no matter the hair type, this is your stuff!
Next, while damp, I used the Curly Pudding to twist Peyton's hair. I used generous amount of Curly Pudding on each section of her hair. Normally Peyton's hair shrinks up really fast when it is wet but the twist were more stretched out then normal.
Here is a picture of her twisted the next morning. As you can see I can't part either. Normally her twist are pretty shrunk tight the next morning but you can see they are still hanging down. So far so good. Peyton wore the twist all day.
Day two, I finally took out the twist. They were not hard or crusty, which I liked. My swag did NOT have the Baby Butter Cream in it that is recommended to use the next day. I used a moisturizer that I had on hand to rub over her hair and edges.
Here is her hair day three before I added any moisturizing products. Again, I did not have the Miss Jessies Baby Buttercreme that is recommended to use.
Pros:
Love how it stretches out the curl.
Great definition of curl.
Hair is soft.
Minimum build up or residue.
Cons:
I do not think this is a all Natural or Organic product. I could not find where it stated it was.
I didn't have the Baby Buttercream to use along with the Curling Pudding. Well that maybe should not be a con but some people did get some in their bag : (
Price! Miss Jessie's is very expensive!
The amount of product you need to use per styling.
In conclusion, I really liked the product and I am excited to use it again in the future. The detangler is a must for Peyton moving forward. I love the definition the Curly Pudding gave Peyton's hair. I plan on purchasing the high $38 Baby Buttercream. I can't wait to try it on my hair when I wear it in it's natural state. If you have curly, kinky, or wavy hair even if you are white, black or Hispanic, Miss Jessies products seems to be pretty universal. They have a great styling guide online to help folks like me. Even though the price is high, I think MissJessies is worth the money (cough).
Have you tried
Miss Jessie's? If not what products do you use on you or your child's hair?
*Disclosure: I was given the Miss Jessie's Super Slip Sudys shampoo and curling pudding in a gift bag at an event. Opinions expressed are my own.
