Sip N See for Baby Elijah

On Saturday I co-hosted my 1st Sip N See.  According to Phaedra from RHOA it's a Southern Tradition.  I guess...  Since Baby Elijah made his appearance 6 weeks early we decided to try this Southern Tradition.

Got my DIY on again and made this banner.

Elijah, the Guest of Honor!  Elijah is now 3 months!

Mommy and Daddy's glasses.

Candy Bar : )

Fill your sippy cup with Candy!

Games!  This set up was for Super Mom!  It was an obstacle course.  You had to iron the shirt, make a phone call, type, change the channel on TV, give the baby a bath, and fold clothes, then put baby in the stroller and go to the other side of the room.  All this while holding the baby (Elmo).  Shortest time won!  This was too funny!

Proud Parents!

The Hostess'  Great Job Everyone.  Congrats to Mom and Dad!  You have been blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby!

Ready for Fall: Nordstrom Sale!

So the Nordstrom's Anniversary sale started July 15!  I was actually invited to shop early but because of Peyton's Party and my Girls weekend I had no time : (

This is one of the best sales ever!  This is the sale where they bring out NEW fall items on sale before FALL!  The stuff is 20-50% off!  You can't beat that!

I looked on line to come up with a plan.  I wanted to get Peyton some foundation pieces for the fall.

1. Joes Jeans!
I don't even own a pair!  Orig. $54 got them for $34.  That still may sound a little high but I want her to have a few pair of good jeans.  I usually go to Gap and theirs are still about $30.

Look at that cute booty!  Now we need to get some belts.

2. Cute Sneakers!
I found these cute Pumas!  Org. $40  Got them for $24!

3. North Face Oso Hoodie!
Love this jacket!  Org. $65 got it for $42.  I think she will get some good wear out of this jacket.  It doesn't get super cold in Georgia until after January.  Plus I had a to get a 3T, Yes 3T!  Told yall this baby was big.  Hopefully she will just grow taller not wider so she can wear next year.

See she lobes this jacket!

I didn't take time to shop for my self but I bumped into some Girl Friends at Nordstom and they were raving about some Steve Madden boots!  I had to see what the fuss is about!

They look better on.  I have skinny jeans on with them in these pics.

Love that red zipper!

Org. $165, got them for $109.  I have big plans for these boots! Skinny jeans, leggings, skirts...

Fall is my favorite season for fashion!  So I think Peyton's Fall wardrobe is off to a good start!  What are you looking forwarded to wearing this fall?

Peyton's Weekend Style

Another Semi Busy weekend.  I had the Sip 'N' See on Saturday.  So took it easy on Sunday.

Thursday Peyton and I had a dinner date with some of my besties and their babies.  It was weird sitting at table with kids everywhere!

Peyton rocked one of her birthday gifts, a romper from H&M.  These are the shoes that she wore on her birthday from Payless.

Lovin SJP in the zebra!

Sunday we took it easy and Peyton wore this purple floral print dress to breakfast.  This is another one of her birthday gifts with her shoes from Payless.

Sorry this picture is so jacked up but it was the only one she posed for so I tried : )

Can't go wrong with Floral in the summer.

Love First Lady O dress.  Timeless!

Which one are you rockin this summer, Zebra or Floral?

Birthday DIYs

First order of business...  One of the Best Sales of the Year start today.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  This is the sale where they bring out new fall merchandise at 20% to 50% off!

Since I started blogging I have found so much information and inspiration!  I am in no way a party planner, I just thought I would pass on some info that helped me in planning Peyton's party.

Pinterest is a great place to start for ideas but Pin just doesn't work for me : ( Boy could I have used that. About three months before Peyton's birthday I started looking for kid party blogs.  There are many but I got most of my inspiration from Kara's Party Idea's.  I you are planning any party, young or old, showers check out this site.  The Party Dress is also a good one, a lot of adult parties and shower inspiration here.

First I looked for the invitations.  I took to the usual, Shutterfly, Tiny Prints and Etsy.  The invitation that I really like was about $2 each.  I think that is a lot per invitations, especially when you need like 40.  So I went on Etsy and found out that people are willing to customize the invitation.  I went with Sprinkled with Sugar to make the invitations. I paid $8 and she sent me a digital image.  I uploaded the image to Walmart.com as a 4x6 print.  I paid 9 cents a print. That's less then $4 for 40 invitations.  I had them printed at the closet store and picked them up.  I purchased a box of envelopes for $4.  So for $16 I got 40 invitations in no time flat!

I made these tissue Pom Poms.  I saw these everywhere!  I had no clue they were so easy to make.

I used this tutorial from Style Berry to make them.  Super easy!

I also made this banner.

I found a quick tutorial here.  I modified some things.  I printed the letters in color on card stock paper and cut them out instead of buying letters to trace.

I alternated patterns for the background.

I wanted cupcake toppers.  I searched Etsy but I thought paying $2 per topper was crazy.  That's more then the cupcake it's self.  I figured I could make those as well.

Googled outlines of butterflies and got a ton of pictures to chose from.   I printed them out and cut out the shapes and used those to trace on the scrapbook paper.

I bought the lollipop sticks from Walmart for like $2.  I used tacky glue to glue the stick between the butterflies.

I hope you guys can find this helpful.  As you can see they were all pretty easy.  What are some things you guys are making these days?

Peyton's 1st Birthday: Gifts

Peyton received some fabulous gifts for her 1st Birthday!  A ton of clothes and toys!  I guess I will have to wait till fall to shop.  I wanted to share with you guys some of the gifts that Mister and I got her.

I found these beautiful gold butterfly earrings with Cubic Zirconia (trust me I wanted diamonds maybe next year) at JC Penny.  I thought that would be a perfect gift for her Butterfly themed party!

Mister didn't tell me before that he bought her this beautiful music jewelry box with crystals that is engraved with her name and birth date.  As a little girl, I remember wanting a jewelry box... Good job Mister!

Earrings and Jewelry Box! I want her to keep these forever to remember her 1st Birthday!  What will we do next year....

Do any of you have gifts from your early years that you kept?  I don't so I want to make sure Peyton does.

Oh... I am kind of back at it again this weekend.  I am hosting a Baby Shower on Saturday with a couple of other ladies.  It's actually a Sip n See!  My friend had her baby 6 weeks early.  Early right!  But he was still almost 7 lbs!  Baby is doing great and we can't wait to celebrate his arrival this Saturday!

Mz. Fashion Closet: I Heart....

Have a special treat today!  We have the hard working, beautiful, fashionista Dhalia from Mz. Fashion Closet.  Dhalia is a make-up artist that has a few celebs under her belt that she has worked with.  I am honored for her to be sharing what she Hearts today!

Us ladies can HEART so many things at one given moment and it seems to change by the day, week, month. LOL

When Trina contacted me…I was honored to share my current loves with the readers of The Baby Shopaholic. Enjoy…and feel free to email me if you have further questions on these items.

1. Chanel Espiegle Blush – This shade is so soft and natural. It gives off just the right amount of color. You can keep building it throughout the day and it will still look pleasantly soft and subtle. It’s a Limited Edition and was the last one at my local Nordstrom….with that being said seems like I’ll cherish this blush until I hit the pan.

2. J.crew T-strap sandals. I purchased these at a local consignment shop for only $15 bucks. They normally run $100?? They are so comfy/casual and being they are leather soles they can sustain the test of time I spend in them. I wear them to my makeup shoots, cookouts, running errands and just about everywhere else.

I’m now interested in these……I heart! I want!

3. I heart this hat from Rag & Bone “Flynn Hat”, I just don’t think I can pull it off with all my big hair. Its just toooooo hott to keep it straight with this humidity. Maybe I’ll purchase it for the Fall. If I still heart it by then. Lol

4. Last but not least (I could name 50+ more) I heart the new creative idea of the Model Mirror. with LED lighting, nice size and color looks. I wouldn’t mind whipping this thing out every 5 minutes. Touching up your face while out on the town, in the car or leaving the gym has gotten glamorous ladies. I cant wait to receive mines! With that being said I’m also offering a lucky follower of my facebook fanpage/blog to win one of your choice. Visit MzFashionCloset.com Good lucky!

Thanks for letting me share just a few of my current loves with you!

Dhalia

Dhalia, Thank you so much for sharing.  1.  I need to know how to get my makeup like yours!  2.  I forgot J Crew had shoes, I Heart those now!  3.  I need to win that mirror... HOT!

Make sure you head over to Mz. Fashion Closet to enter to win this glamorous mirror!
