I signed up for Weight Watchers again. For me, Weight Watcher is the most realistic diet plan out there for me. I don't plan to give up carbs, eat clean, juicing or anything else outside the norm. I would be setting myself up to fail if I did. But, I'm not gonna front, I'm horrible at logging my points. I really use it as a calculator to find out how many points the food is before I cook or eat it. I just set up a reminder on my phone to go and log my points after dinner. I hope that helps.
So what am I eating? Well, I sat down and made a list of all the things I like to eat and checked out the points. I wasn't eating as bad as I thought. It's when I eat out I get in trouble. The best thing for me to do was is to stay my butt at home and make my own food. I've been eating a ton of fruit. I know fruit can have a lot of sugar but it beats eating french fries. I also make egg white muffins for breakfast. When I get tired of the egg muffins, I eat oatmeal or eggs whites on a English muffin. For snacks, I've been eating yogurt, hard boiled eggs (no yolk), baked chips. Dinners can get a little rough. Even though I try to eat baked fish or chicken with a veggie, Peyton's not going for that. She loves pasta (and so do I)! I only use whole wheat or hidden veggie pasta. I try not to eat too much. I came up with a few easy meals for Peyton that I could make quick while I eat a salad, fish or chicken.
I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary with my eating. I'm just trying to cut back on the carbs and eat more veggies. Yes, I'm eating canned (some frozen) vegetables. I know folks say they have so much sodium but it beats eating french fries and fried chicken! Feel me? I'm just trying to stay prepared. I've been taking 10 minutes in the morning to get my snacks and lunch together. I also try to plan my meals out for the week and go to the grocery store on Sundays. If you have any easy meals or tips, please leave them in the comments. If you are looking for more weight loss inspiration, my online buddy, Tairalyn from Little Miss Mama, lost 22 pounds doing the Dunkan Diet. Tairalyn has been a great encouragement for me.

Trina, the struggle is real...trying to eat better, work out etc....You have such a variety here. I am such a picky eater I seem to eat the same things over and over again...but I'm going to try to be more prepared when it comes to my foods. I give myself weekly goals and this week is no "fast food" except for Thursday when I eat Subway. Keep up the good work, Trina..You got this girly
ReplyDeleteTrina. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. I just had my first physical and was told that I am prediabetic (damn genetic). So although, I exercise hard, I need to put more emphasis on diet..Not only watching calorie intake, but specifically keeping an eye on carbs. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteIt's so stressful! We can do it!
DeleteTrader Joe's. They have great pre-made stuff that you can throw in the microwave. None of the super tiny portion, tastes like a freezer meal stuff. My favorite is their frozen chicken tikka masala. Also, being 5'10" and large framed, I eat 1800 calories when I am dieting, otherwise I find myself way too tempted and it all backfires on me. The last thing I do is more SLEEP. Lack of sleep releases a hormone that makes you want to eat.
ReplyDeleteI need to get to Trader Joes! Their lettuce lasts for a while too. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteCarbs are my weakness, I need my rice, pasta and potatoes! I try to eat small portions with emphasis on protein and vegetables. I just need to move and cut out the sweets. This is a great start T, keep it up!!!
ReplyDeleteKudos to you on getting fit. FYI, be super careful with the Glory products. I've seen and heard on more than one occasion of people finding bugs like roaches, etc. in the food. Not trying to gross you out, I just don't want it to happen to anyone else.
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda gross. I prob ate a few of them, still was good : )
Deletethe struggle is real. Carbs and Gelato are my weakness. Sigh. That being said, I've found that planning what I'm going to eat early in the morning and writing it all down is working for me this week. I even worked out twice. LOL. Plus, I left all cash home so that I can't randomly go out to eat. Because even though I will say I'm getting the salad, I will look around and fries will be in my bag. Keep it up! I really need to try the egg muffins
ReplyDeleteI lost 25 pounds on Weight Watchers before and I'm trying to lose that (and then some!) this second time around. I'm also terrible at logging my points. The app has an option to set reminders. I just have to remember to do it, ha ha! I like the idea of writing down foods you regularly eat and tracking points. Knowing is half the battle, right?
ReplyDeletePreparation is so key. That is wear I fail. I am always running around so sometimes I am such a mess that i spend the time to prepare my food, but forget it in the fridge! Ridiculous! Sounds like you are totally on the right track. KEEP IT UP
