Macy's Celebrates Black History Month with Romare Foundation

Last Thursday I was invited by Everywhere Society and Black and Married with Kids to attend the opening reception at Macy's for The Romare Bearden Foundation celebrating the 100th Birthday of preeminent African-American artist Romare Bearden.

Romare Bearden is recognized as one of the most creative and original visual artists of the 20th century, Romare Bearden had a prolific and distinguished career. His life and art are marked by exceptional talent in a broad range of intellectual and scholarly interests, including music, performing arts, history, literature and world art.

Art dealer and expert Jerry Thomas will be letting his collection of Romare Bearden pieces tour several cities throughout the US.  Check Macy's to see when the collection will be in your town.
