Anything that came out of Maya Angelou's mouth or written in books, was thought provoking. One quote in particular has always stuck with me. "When people show you who they are, believe them." We all have been in bad relationships and waisted so much time hoping that person will change. This could be a boyfriend, friends, family or an associate. I stopped waisting time, hoping that person would change after they showed me who they were. I may have slipped up a few times and let a person show me who they were twice or three times. Shame on me, because I already knew who they were and what I could expect from them.
The flip side to this is you make room for awesome people in your life. I've been blessed with the most incredible best friends any girl could ask for. Most of my besties date back to elementary, middle and high school. If you are in a bad relationship or have some bogus and trifling friends, do yourself a favor and give them the deuces!
Maya Angelou kept it one hundred. RIP.
