Mamanista Nails and Giveaway!

Ok, do you remember my guest post over at my girls blog  Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers about my obsessions?  Well one of them was the Sally Hansen Nail Effects.

Since I was going out this past weekend I wanted to do it!  First I would like to say that I follow this great blog Nouveau Cheap that reviews drug store beauty products.  Well she posted about Broadway Nails and there nail stickers that are just like the Sally Hansen's but half the price!  So I hit up Walgreen's and got some.

Putting them on was super easy! No dry time!  But I do suggest putting on a top coat, it will make them last longer.

Fabulous!!!!   Glad this picture is blurry so you can't see my dried up cracked cuticles!  But these nails take the attention away from them! I have been washing baby, bottles and changing diapers with these nails and they are still standing!

So I know some folks are scared to try them so I will be giving some away!  There will be TWO winners of these...

Picture may make the nail sticker a little dull, but they are shinny!

Again, I will be picking two winners.  To enter just leave a comment saying where you will be going when you put these nail designs on, for example girls night, dinner... etc.  That's all!  Giveaway will end on Thursday March 17 at 11:59 pm.  Winners will be announced on Friday.

Rock the Red Pump Day!

Every year, the United States recognizes March 10th as National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). It’s a nationwide initiative to raise awareness about the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS on women & girls and encourages ladies to take action. While progress has definitely been made in the areas of AIDS prevention and treatment, women still represent 27% of all new AIDS diagnoses, with African-American women accounting for 66% of that group. This year focuses on this statistic, “Every 35 minutes, a woman tests positive for HIV in the United States.”

Money Aint a Thang! Swimwear

Its March and almost time to hit the beach!  I would love for Peyton to shut it down at the pool in this...

Cute huh!  This little number is from Dior and is $190!  Cute but I don't think so.  I will be hitting up Target or Baby Gap for a cute swim suit. Mama needs a new swimsuit for the new Mama body! There is a 5% chance that I may try to rock a bikini this summer : )  Just the thought gets me excited!

Let me know where you have seen cute reasonable swimwear for mama or baby.

Baby Shopaholic vs. Consignment Sale!

So I went to the Second Childhood Consignment Sale last Thursday.  I was a little skeptical about going.  Not that I am a snob and think Peyton is to good for used items... I just feel I find such good deals why bother.  Since we are shopaholics I went!

I went with high expectations!  The flyer said no strollers until 8pm!  So I'm like this must be serious.  I didn't want to use the baby Bjorn since she almost broke my back during our sample sale.  So I left P and went to the sale.   I was getting excited thinking what if I find some Burberry and Gucci that some rich mom threw away!!!

This is what it looked like pulling up!  Doors opened at 5, I got there about 5:20 and parking lot was packed!  It was held at an old Comp USA store.

A lot of stuff!  Very organized!

Sad to say, I really didn't find anything : )  I was very disappointed in the clothing.  Items were $3 to $5.  I find those prices every weekend in Target and Old Navy.  Before I buy a dress that was washed about 10 times for $4, I would rather find one on sale for $5 or $6.  Feel Me?

Don't get me wrong, if you were looking for a nice crib, a Maclaren Stroller or a Bumbo chair, this was the place!

Just so I would not leave empty handed, I got these two things...

This is a lullyby thing that has a light that shines on the ceiling with stars, paid $2.50

Barney laptop for $3.  Peyton loves computers and Ipads!  She needs her own!  Thought this would work, but there is nothing like the real thing to her!

Have you tried consignment shops?  Let me know what goodies you have found!
