For Black History month, Macy's is celebrating life and works of Gordon Parks! I got join in the celebration on Saturday at the Lenox Square Macy's. There was great folks, good food, music and celebs all in the mix! I got to debut a new look at the event!

So my older sister, who does hair was in town for the weekend so I had the pleasure of getting her to cut and straighten my hair (flat iron). My sister used 4Naturals Irontastic to straighten my hair. No frizz and lots of shine! She curled it and pin-curled it up. I slept in the pins and took it down the next day. I had some tight cute bouncy curls that made my hair look like it was a bob. My hair may look a little old ladyish but my natural hair is not thick at all so curls help give me a little body. Since I had the old school bob look going I went with a red lip (Ruby Woo) and a 50's style dress.
The event was fabulous! Macy's did an awesome job celebrating American icon, Gordon Parks! E.R. star, Eriq La Salle was on hand and looking good to talk about Gordon Parks influence on photography and film. Following the disscusion there was live singing, a DJ and great company! Black History Month is not over and Macy's is celebrating all over the US. Click HERE to see if there are events this week in your area.
What are you doing to celebrate Black History Month? What do you think of the pin curls?
It doesnt look old lady-ish at all! I need curls for body too, big time! Love your dress - school girl chic, & the pop of red is pretty!
