Donut Bun Tutorial for Little Girls + Moms

You'll never understand the trials and tribulations of doing someone else's hair until you have a daughter.  By the fussing, whines and cries, you would think that you were trying to pull out teeth. I don't know how hairdressers do it!  I'm blessed that Peyton will sit and take hair combing like a champ.  It may hurt me more than it hurts her because of the fact if I don't do it, she would be looking a mess.  In case of an emergency, Mister is decent with her hair.  He is notorious for his two puff style.  It look a'ight.  Besides two puffs or twists, I keep trying to find fresh styles that are easy to do on Peyton's hair.  Her current favorite hair style is the donut bun aka ballerina bun.  You only need just enough hair to cover the donut to make this happen. 

Are we there yet? Kate Spade

I've waited all my life for this... well Peyton's life.  The Kate Spade X Gap Kids collection has arrived!  Peyton and I got to shop the collection early at Lenox mall in Atlanta.  The collection was everything that we love about Kate Spade and Jack Spade in small proportions.

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is in a few weeks and Christmas is around the corner.  This is time of year to focus on family. We hustle and grind all year without spending time with family.  The holidays are a time when we can slow down and take time to focus on spending quality time with our loved ones.

I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween weekend.  We also got an extra hour of sleep.  But let's keep it real, that extra hour means your kids are just up even earlier.  I was hoping that rolling our clocks back one hour would help me get Peyton into bed earlier but it didn't work. I'll try again tonight.  Peyton had a ball trick or treating with her friends from school.  Oh, and actress Kaira Akita from Tyler Perry's Why did I Get Married (the crazy baby mama) and A Family that Preys (the hilarious secretary) dressed up as Peyton for Halloween.  We're so flattered and she nailed it.  You can see her pics HERE.  Thanks Kaira!  As promised, here is another one of Peyton's looks from Kids Fashion Week in NYC taken by Nasilele Photography.

Fall FabKids

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  Mine was pretty business.  I hosted a blogger brunch on Saturday with Lexi with the Curls and that turned out AWESOME!  I got home early Saturday evening to find that Peyton had a fever.  She was still playing and acting like nothing was wrong.  She had a fever on Thursday so I stayed home with her and she was fine Friday.  Saturday evening, we decided to take her to urgent care.  We got some meds and no more fever.  Peyton is a solider, so she'll be back to 100% in no time!  

Did you know that their are trends fashion trends in pre-K?  The current trend in Peyton's class is tutus and dresses....EVERYDAY.  FabKids has us covered with their new fall collection full of dresses with legging and skirts!

I hope you guys had a great weekend.  Peyton and I have been going non-stop since Friday.  Mama is so tired today, hence the late post. On Saturday afternoon, Peyton hit the runway for Bloomingdale's BKids back to school fashion show.

Last week I attended the annual summer Bronner Brothers Hair show in Atlanta.  If you are involved in any part of the beauty industry (hair, makeup, nails, social media, sales, etc.) the Bronner Brothers show is a must attend.  This year’s hair show was all about Happy Hair! *que the Happy song*

Shoe Carnival takes us Back to School + Sale

In less than two weeks, Peyton will be starting pre-k! *insert Home Alone face* Where did the time go?  I’m a little sad but excited for my baby. Jump Jump

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was action packed (as usual).  Peyton had another professional photo shoot on Saturday and I thought it would be great idea to go to an MC Hammer concert outside that evening.  Between sweating and dancing, I was drained on Sunday.  One piece of clothing I wanted to wear this summer was a jumper.  Since I look more like Humpty Dumpty in a jumpsuit, I figure I'll just live through Peyton.

Blue Peyton

I hope you guys had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was pretty good.  I had some technical issues on the back end of blog over the weekend.  I'm so not a tech person and I can get frustrated when I don't now what's going on.  I just have to take a breath and remember, no one is going to die because my blog is not working : ).  Now on to Blue Peyton.  Frozen is not going anywhere soon in our house.  Everything Peyton does or wears has some relationship to Frozen.  She had been begging to wear this Cherokee dress from Target because she would look like Blue Elsa.

I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day Weekend!  Ours was great!  We surprised my mom by showing up at my sisters house in Indianapolis on Friday.  She had no clue we were coming.  The look on my mom's face was priceless when we walked in.  She hasn't seen Peyton since Christmas.  Peyton was over joyed to see her best friend! While Peyton and I hung out with my my mom and sisters, Mister ran around Indy trying to get a tee time.  It was an awesome weekend!

Posh Peyton

I hope you guys had a fab weekend.  I attended the Mom 2 Summit conference in Atlanta so my weekend was pretty hectic.  I was bounce back and forth to the conference and spending time with Peyton.  The weather was beautiful, officially shorts season.  Peyton wore her cutoff shorts from Posh Peyton, perfect name for a stylish children's boutique.

Event Networking Tips 101
