Big Hearts + Self-Esteem

After having daughter, you realize how important self-esteem is.  As soon as little girls start school, they start comparing themselves to other girls. We don't want our daughters to feel like they less beautiful than another little girl.  Building self-esteem starts with us moms, aunts, grandmas and tee tees.  I love that Dove is committed to encourage women to pass their positive beauty image down to the next generation.

Snapbacks

It's amazing how fast the weekends go by.  I feel like I just got off work on Friday.  Short or long, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  If you don't know by now, Peyton enjoys wearing hats or any head accessory for that matter.  She looks so darn cute in them.  One of the latest trends for little girls that I love are snapback hats.  Our friends at Love My Alannah sent Peyton one of their new floral snapbacks! 

Fall FabKids

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  Mine was pretty business.  I hosted a blogger brunch on Saturday with Lexi with the Curls and that turned out AWESOME!  I got home early Saturday evening to find that Peyton had a fever.  She was still playing and acting like nothing was wrong.  She had a fever on Thursday so I stayed home with her and she was fine Friday.  Saturday evening, we decided to take her to urgent care.  We got some meds and no more fever.  Peyton is a solider, so she'll be back to 100% in no time!  

Did you know that their are trends fashion trends in pre-K?  The current trend in Peyton's class is tutus and dresses....EVERYDAY.  FabKids has us covered with their new fall collection full of dresses with legging and skirts!

I officially have a big girl on my hand.  My sweet baby doll, Peyton is 4 years old today *sheds one thug tear*.  If you want time to fly, have a baby!  Feels like I just brought her home from the hospital.

Happy June!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I can't believe that Peyton is going to be 4 years old next month! Boy, how time flies.  Even though she looks 13 in these pictures, she is always going to be my baby doll.

Spring Moto Jacket

This weekend I realized I just can't run around like I used too.  I had a action packed weekend scheduled.  My Saturday started out with a private lunch for the Bronner Brothers Hair Show, then met up with Mister to get Peyton to take her to Mimi's house for a Disney party and then to the Hawk vs. Knicks basketball game.  Whew... I'm tired again just thinking about it.  Sunday morning I woke up with a crazy migraine that lasted until the afternoon.  I had events scheduled for Sunday but I didn't make it. I'm getting old.  Peyton had a great time and that's all that matters.

Awesome All Day

I hope you guys had a great weekend.  Peyton and I are taking a break today.  We've been traveling this weekend to support my good friend that lost her 14 month old son.  I'm so heartbroken for her, her husband and their 5 year old son.  I wish I could take just a little of the pain away.  I didn't want to say anything on the blog because this is hard to except.  Please say a prayer for my friend and the family.

Happy MLK Day & Wild Prints

Happy MLK Day!  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to civil rights.  Just to think that Peyton would not be able to attend the school she currently goes to or be able to play with her friends if it wasn't for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights activist.  Today we should take the time to reflect on what Dr. King fought for and what we can do to continue his dream.

Weekend Style: Shinny Heart

How was your Labor Day weekend?  Ours was very chill.  Other than supporting an event on Saturday afternoon, I just chilled with Peyton and attempted to tackle cleaning my closet (read about it here).  The rain all weekend didn't help with getting outside.  We managed to barbecue on Monday while it was drizzling.  Overall, I enjoyed the much needed chill time!

Weekend Style: Nerd Glasses

I hope you guys had a great weekend.  My mother is back in the hospital.  She is doing better again but I'm making sure they don't let her go until all her issues are addressed.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

On another note, Peyton has been killing me with these white nerd glasses. She's been wearing them all weekend like she needs them to see.  Folks have been getting a kick out of Peyton sporting these glasses in public.  I didn't have time to get Peyton all dolled up like I wanted to this weekend so her casual look went great with her glasses.

Weekend Style: FabKids
