Mommy Time at Flesh Skin Studio

When you look good, you feel good.  It's important for us mommies to schedule some me time.  I have to admit that I'm the worse at scheduling beauty treatments for myself but they are a must.  I may have a mini Sephora at the crib, but it's still important for me to schedule visits to certified beauty professionals.  Just in time for my birthday, Flesh Skin Studio invited me to come by for a Glow facial.

Mister's Party by Park Avenue Events

Mister's birthday party came and went.  We had such a fabulous time, our friends and family are still talking about it.  I called myself planning early so I wouldn't be overwhelmed.  #WRONG.  A few weeks before the party I started to freak out and have nightmares that people would show up and I would have a bonnet on my head, wearing ratty sweats and a t-shirt.  I started venting on twitter.  After my rant, I got an email from Hester, the owner of Park Avenue Events saying she would like to help me out with the event I was planning.  Look at Gawd! 

Bloomingdales + Atlanta Women's Foundation

One in four single moms living in the Atlanta metro area live below the poverty line.  Everyday 81,000 women and girls wake up in poverty.  Across the country, poverty rates for women are higher than men.  The Atlanta Women's Foundation is on a mission to help change the lives of women and to end generational poverty.  I recently had the honor of recently participating in a Bloomingdale's fashion preview and shopping event that would support the Atlanta Women's Foundation.

Macy's Spring Fashion Event

I think it's safe to say that spring is here!  Macy's at Cumberland Mall in Atlanta wants to help you get your wardrobe together with a fun fashion event this Saturday, April 19 at 2pm. 

Atlanta Baby & Child Expo April 26th + Giveaway

I'm a big fan of baby expos.  You know why?  Because I went to one when I was 8 months pregnant and won an amazing stroller and car seat from Britax!  You never know what could happen at these events!  So I wanted to let you know that Atlanta Baby and Child Expo is coming to the fabulous Fox Theater on April 26th.  Yes, Britax will be in the house!  I'm giving one mom two passes to head to the expo.

Fashion Blogger Pop-Up Shop in Atlanta

Being the shopaholic that I am, I have way too much stuff.  New shoes have to wait in line for their turn.  It's so sad.  Lucky for you (if you wear a size 7.5 or 8) I'm teaming up with some fabulous Atlanta fashion bloggers for a pop-up shop at the W in Buckhead on April 12th.

Abby & Co. Grand Opening

A new "Family" boutique has arrived in Atlanta!  Abby & Co. held their Grand Opening party on Monday.  I'm totally in love with Abby & Co.  If this blog was a store it would look just like Abby & Co.!  Seriously, it's a one stop shop for fabulous moms!  Abby & Co. carries the trendiest clothes for the little ones, hard to find toys and baby gear, gifts for your girls, and fabulous clothes for the moms!

Dermalogica Arrives in Atlanta

Dermalogica, the leader is skin health care, just opened their 5th concept location in at Atlanta in Atlantic Station.  I was honored to attend the Grand Opening celebration where I was able meet and chat with the founder of Dermalogica, Jane Wurwand. 

Atlantartica

You may have heard that Atlanta got a big snow today. It may have only been 3 or 4 inches but the havoc in this city is unbelievable. Atlanta was not prepared.

After 2 hours in the car for a normal 5 minute drive, I was reunited with my baby. Unlike a lot of families, we were able to enjoy the snow together. Some parents didn't even make it to their kids tonight. The thought of that breaks my heart. There are kids still at schools and stuck on buses. I thank God for all the people that are helping out kids and strangers tonight. I have a few friends that are sleeping in cars, Target or grocery stores tonight. When I tell you it's crazy here, please believe it.  

Mister just got home after being in the car for 10 hours.  I thank God that he is safe.  Mister said it looked like a bomb hit Atlanta. Stranded cars everywhere. I wasn't far from leaving my car to just start walking to get Peyton this evening. I'm truly blessed to be laying in my bed with my daughter and Mister.

Please pray for those stranded tonight.

Jeffrey Hosts Fall Fashion Preview

Monday evening I had the honor of attending an exclusive fall fashion preview event at Jeffrey Atlanta in Phipps Plaza.  During the event, guest got a sneak peek at runway looks from the upcoming Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2013, to be held on Monday, August 26th. Jeffrey Fashion Cares annual fundraiser is the pinnacle fashion event in Atlanta.  This annual fashion event benefits the Atlanta Aids fund and Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Greater Atlanta Affiliate. Jeffrey Fashion Cares (Atlanta and New York) has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country having raised over $11 million.

Last week, I had the honor of playing dress-up at the Atlanta Calypso St. Barth store.  Calypso is best know for their luxurious exotic resort wear made of the best silks, cashmere and special embellishments.  I have been a fan of Calypso's luxury BOHO style for many years.  Their fall collection always sets the tone for what I want to rock for the season.

Brunch with the Southern Blog Society
