Blogging Tips: How to Get on "The List" #BlogHer13

Before starting this blog I had no idea on what went on in this corner of the internet world.  Now I'm hosting events, doing sponsored post and headed to blog conferences.  Who would have thunk it!  Just like doing anything you love, you have to keep learning.  To learn more in this blogosphere world you may need to attend a conference or two.  Every conference is different so before you go you have to sit down and think of why you are going.  It could be to attend workshops, meet online friend in person, network with brands, attend parties, meet like minded people or to just get a few days away from the kids!  All of these are very good reasons to go.  Since BlogHer was in my hometown of Chicago that was more than enough reason for me to go.  I'm also a very social person and I love the opportunity to meet new people.

What I Wore #BlogHer13

You know how you have these big plans on wearing all this cute stuff when you head out of town?  Then you go out of town and you are running around like crazy and you don't wear half the stuff?  Yeah, that happened to me for BlogHer!   I packed the usual two outfits per day, one for day and one for night.  Well the nighttime outfits didn't happen because I was still running the streets from earlier that day!  I had good intentions!  Here are the few outfits that I did wear. 

Indique + JustFab Lipstick & High Heels Event Chicago #BlogHer13

To kick of BlogHer 2013, I hosted the 2nd Lipstick & High Heels event at Indique Boutique Chicago.  Indique is a luxury hair extension line (I'm currently wearing) with boutiques in Chicago, all over North East, South Africa and coming soon to Atlanta (Whoot!).  Indique along with JustFab, were premier sponsors of the Lipstick and High Heels event.  To say we had a ball is an understatement!

Shoes I'm Taking to #BlogHer13

In less than 24hrs I will be on a flight to Chicago for BlogHer!  I have a million and a half things to do!  One thing that will get my attention before for heading to BlogHer is what shoes I will wearing.  JustFab will be holding my feet down down during the conference!

To bring my BlogHer / NYC experience to a close I wanted to hit the town!  So I headed to Harlem to have dinner and drink with some of my NYC native friends!

Saturday night party Momtrends did it again!  They hosted a spectacular Back to School Party with Lands' End!  Besides my Lipstick + High Heel party, this one was my favorite!

Parties in NYC for BlogHer were just off the chain!  Next up is a party at FAO Schwarz on 5th Ave!  Hosted by Nicole of Momtrends and Melisa of Project Nursery, with a Spring 2013 preview of Zutano.  

Breakfast with Kids Headquarters NYC

If you have not noticed, BlogHer Parties don't stop!!!  The morning after my Lipstick and High Heels party I headed to breakfast at Kids Headquarters Manhattan Showroom.  Kids Headquarters are responsible for children's clothing lines for brands like Paul Frank, Calvin Klein, Hurley and Under Armour (check out our review HERE).

Lipstick + High Heels + EDEN Cocktails!

BlogHer was a world-wind!  Still trying to get my life together. 

To kick off BlogHer I hosted a blogger social, Lipstick + High Heels with co-host Danielle from The Style + Beauty Doctor on Thursday night at Pranna in Manhattan.  The event was sponsored by EDEN Bodyworks!  EDEN Bodyworks is an natural hair care line that contains No Alcohol, No Petroleum, No Mineral Oils and No Sodium Sulfates.

Lipstick + High Heels was off the hook!  Bloggers from all over the country came together for this social.  I was truly honored to be in the midst of these wonderful women!  What an great way to kick off the conference in style!
