Tribal Prints & A Birdie Baby Shower

While I was in Chicago last week, I stepped away from the BlogHer activities to co-host a baby shower for my niece, Curvie Birdie.  We both grew up in Chicago so she wanted to have her baby shower there so she could celebrate with family and friends.

Shea Moisture Organic Baby Products Review

I think it is super important to know you have options for products for your baby.  I am pumped to tell you about the Shea Moisture Organic Baby care products.   I am sure most of you are familiar with Shea Moisture hair products that are pretty awesome (talking about it HERE).  I could only guess that the children's products would have to be on the same HIGH level.

Feathering Our Nest Review

Eversave Giveaway ends tonight!  Enter HERE for a chance to win $20 worth of Eversave services!

Corner Stork Baby Gifts is your one stop shop for all things baby.  Baby gifts, keepsakes and shower favors.

Corner Stork recently sent me their new Feathering Our Nest basket for review.

Awww!
Here are the details of what is in included in the gift set:

•Four-piece layette gift set includes bodysuit, cable-knit cap, knit booties and cable-knit lovie

•White, long-sleeve bodysuit with charming knit bird applique

•Cap, booties and lovie are beige, with brownish gray pom-poms on the booties

•Layette set is crafted from washable (cold) cotton knit and interlock cotton

•Knit lovie measures approximately 17" square

•Lovie can be personalized with baby's name for an additional charge

•Enchanting gift presentation includes layette set resting in a rich-brown, woven-rattan "nest" tied with a wide cream-colored, satin ribbon and bow, and a color-coordinated To/From tag

•Size 0-6 months

The presentation of this item is adorable!  This is what it looks like after shipping.  More stylish then your typical box layette set.  The items are neatly arranged in a cute little basket.  Looks as though you put it together yourself.

Love the knit hat.  I could not stand all the cotton, wrinkled newborn hats when Peyton was a newborn.  I would have probably just added a bow on this one for Peyton.
The items appear to be great quality cotton (I did not wash them).  The knit lovie is my favorite.  Nothing better then have a cute blankie for a new born.  Especially for visiting friends and family and everyone wanting to hold the precious baby.

The Feathering Our Nest basket is Baby Shopaholic approved!  I would have loved to have received this for Peyton.  I received many layette sets but nothing of this quality (except for some Saks 5th Ave night gowns) and with such a fabulous presentation.  Although I like to give a gift card or an item on the registry, this would be a great additional gift that will get "Awwww!" at the shower.  Bonus is that it is unisex!

What do you like to give at baby showers?  For friend or work showers?

Make sure you check out Corner Stork Baby Gifts!

*Disclosure:  I was sent the Feathering Our Nest Basket for review.  The opinions expressed are my own.

Weekend Style: Baby Shower

I hope you enjoyed your long weekend.

The Mister, Peyton and I headed to Memphis to co-host my BFF Rhonda's baby shower at the Grove Grill Restaurant in Memphis.  Yall not going to believe this!  I went off and left Peyton's outfits for the weekend!!!  I am so ashamed and can't believe it did something like that.  Luckily I had her back up outfits and play clothes packed.  Her dresses were hanging and I forgot to grab them.  Bad Mommy!

Rhonda and I have been friends since freshman year of college so we have seen each other grow.  She went on to do big things like, become a Doctor and marry one : )  I am so happy for her and all her accomplishments.  Her and husband are the sweetest and most humble people and I am blessed to have them as friends.

 The Beautiful Mom!
Don't you love the dress?  She got it from ASOS.com
 The proud parents to be.

 Peyton crashed the party!

Her baby girl is not even here yet and has two pair of Ugg boots!  Daddy bought them, Lucky Girl!

The beautiful cake, matches the invitations.

These are the invitations I ordered from Mixbook.

Don't you just love baby showers!  What a great occasion to celebrate!  I have hosted 2 this year so I think I am done for the year.

Sip N See for Baby Elijah

On Saturday I co-hosted my 1st Sip N See.  According to Phaedra from RHOA it's a Southern Tradition.  I guess...  Since Baby Elijah made his appearance 6 weeks early we decided to try this Southern Tradition.

Got my DIY on again and made this banner.

Elijah, the Guest of Honor!  Elijah is now 3 months!

Baby and Mommy!

Check out Baby's shoes.

Daddy and Baby.

Check out this amazing cake!  This is from the same lady that made my Gucci Diaper Bag Cake.

Delicious spread by Valerie
The Sips.

Glasses tagged up for the guests.

Mommy and Daddy's glasses.

Candy Bar : )

Fill your sippy cup with Candy!

Games!  This set up was for Super Mom!  It was an obstacle course.  You had to iron the shirt, make a phone call, type, change the channel on TV, give the baby a bath, and fold clothes, then put baby in the stroller and go to the other side of the room.  All this while holding the baby (Elmo).  Shortest time won!  This was too funny!

Proud Parents!

The Hostess'  Great Job Everyone.  Congrats to Mom and Dad!  You have been blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby!

Spanx Haters

Ok, raise you hand if you heart Spanx!  Exactly!  What would we do with out them???  I would have serious muffin tops and could not wear half my clothes.  They allow us to put on jeans, or even wear a belt....

spanx.com
There are some haters out there.  I just read this article on MSN saying that Spanx is getting flack from the Power Momma Spanx trying to say that even if you pregnant you should try to look skinny.... umm...yeah. When I was preggers I ordered some of these right away!  I loved them!  They helped my back and my behind.  I didn't always want to wear a mu mu.  These allowed me to wear different outfits.  Check me out at my baby shower and I got my spanx on.

That's me in a tight dress and Mister (isn't he cute :)  See how big I was and I had another month to go.  Thank God for Spanx!
