I am sure you know by now that I love beauty products! I think I love them because they can be pretty cheap and you can gain weight and still wear them.
What is the latest BIG thing in makeup? Eyelashes! They are everywhere! People are using the Latisse stuff and getting individual lashes put on. I love fake lashes but they can be difficult to put on by yourself. A few weeks ago I received the Film Noir Lash Lacquer from Hourglass cosmetics to review.
The objective of the Film Noir Lash Lacquer is to create length, volume and high-gloss shine.
They also sent me a sample of the Hourglass Spectrum Mascara to use with the Film Noir. They said it works best with their Spectrum mascara. Confused? I was! Cuz I thought they were sending me mascara.
Here are my lashes before any mascara.
Lashes after using the Hourglass Spectrum Mascara
Lashes after using Film Noir. I can tell the difference using the Film Noir.
Here are both eyes. Almost the look I was going for, bunny rabbit : )
The next day I tried it with my personal fav mascara, even tho the package suggest not to use a heavy mascara. Oh well, I am hard headed.
Here are my lashes using my personal mascara and the Film Noir on top.
After looking at these pictures I agree, the Hourglass Mascara works best with the Film Noir. I went to work with them like this and people noticed them. So I guess it gave me that POP!
These are the cons of Film Noir Lash Lacquer
- You have to get used to painting your eyelashes like painting your nails. As you can see I have it all over my eyelid.
- To remove takes a lot of work. I used baby oil and washed my face twice to get it off and still had some left on.
- It lacks volume to me. I wish there was a brush to uses to separate the lashes. I felt like they were clumped together after painting on the lash lacquer.
Overall, I think Film Noir Lash Lacquer delivered on the shine and lengthening of the lashes. I have pretty thin lashes so volume is what is most important to me. The next time I use it I try a eyelash comb to spread the lashes. I will keep you posted!
Film Noir Lash Lacquer can be found exculsively at Sephora.
What do you look for in a mascara? Or do you say forget it and just wear false lashes?
*Disclosure: I was given Hourglass Spectrum mascara and Hourglass Lash Lacquer for review. The opinion expressed are my own and not influenced by the gift.
Great, honest review. For me, I look for length and volume in a mascara. I think my lashes are almost non existent otherwise! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI can tell from the pic's that film noir is definitely the best! I used Latisse last year and it really does work
ReplyDeleteYou can def tell the difference but seems like it will take time to do. I have been using Falsies Mascara by Maybelline and ExactEyelights by Cover Girl. I love both!! I usually only rock false lashes on certain occasions.
ReplyDeleteI love Falsies! I'm pretty good at putting them on so when I want to look really sassy that's what I do. ;=)
ReplyDeleteWow, okay I definitely see the difference. I love a shine and the pop of my lashes and I definitely like it to go on easy. I'd rather not have too much clean up on my lids after I'm finished, but if it makes them pop then I may have to try it. Your lashes look great. I like the bunny rabbit look the best.
ReplyDeleteHi, i was wondering about this product. Thanks so much for the detailed review :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great review!!! I absolutely LOVE mascara and I'm always looking for ways to volumize AND lengthen my thin eyelashes. I did notice the clumping with this lacquer. The length is great but I agreee that the volume leaves a lot to be desired.
ReplyDeleteI definitely can tell the difference. It gives your eyes that added pop. I know I would definitely have stray marks all over my eyelid. May have to give it a try to see how I do.
