Christmas Aftermath

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas.  Ours was great!  Peyton got her Frozen castle that has been sold out since it hit the market.  After calling several stores across the country where I had friends that could pick it up for me, I found one!  After we opened all our gifts, we headed over to a friends house to have dinner together with all our kids.  It was so awesome to see our kids have a ball together.  Since we were at a friends house, we dressed pretty causal.

Happy Holidays!  I still have a lot to do before Christmas. I have not wrapped one gift yet!  Our tree looks sad!  Friday night, I took Peyton to see the new Annie movie with Quvenzhane Wallis.  In Baby Shopaholic fashion, she wore an outfit from the Annie collection at Target.

The Carter’s pajama donation drive comes at a critical time as December marks “Danger Season,” the time of year when temperatures begin to drop leaving underserved children in need of warm sleepwear and comfort. Many of these children have been abused, abandoned or neglected and live in group homes, shelters or temporary housing without adequate heat.  I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  We finally got a tree this weekend!  And Peyton is the Christmas Boss.  She went with Mister to pick out the tree, then came home to tell us how to decorate.  This girl wastes no time and plays no games when it comes to the Christmas tree.  Truth be told, if it wasn't for her, we probably wouldn't have a tree.  For Peyton's tree hunting adventure, we kept it casual with some bright colors.

Happy Thanksgiving week!  It's hard to believe it's here already!  These last few weeks have been tough around these parts.  My mother in law passed away and we laid her to rest this past weekend in upstate New York.  This has been tough on my husband.  I can't imagine how he feels because I know how much it hurts me.  He was the oldest of four boys.  Mr. actually went to help comfort her during her last few weeks.  She was the sweetest and most beautiful woman.  We are going to miss her so much.  Sorry to be a Debbie Downer on a Monday but it's all I can think about right now.  I'm thankful for having the best mother-in-law ever.  I'm digging in the crates for this post since we had to travel through a blizzard to get to NY.  Peyton wore this dress to Baby Morgan's first birthday party a few weeks ago.

Happy Mamanista Friday!  Temps are crazy low across the country this week.  Now we can pull out those cute coats from last year!  I totally forgot about most of my fall and winter coats from last year.  It was like shopping in my own closet.  In addition to wearing fly coats this season, I love wearing hats.  I'm a hat girl.  I grew up in a COGIC church where the ladies wore hats every Sunday.  I've been told I wear hats like a First Lady. LOL! 

Donut Bun Tutorial for Little Girls + Moms

You'll never understand the trials and tribulations of doing someone else's hair until you have a daughter.  By the fussing, whines and cries, you would think that you were trying to pull out teeth. I don't know how hairdressers do it!  I'm blessed that Peyton will sit and take hair combing like a champ.  It may hurt me more than it hurts her because of the fact if I don't do it, she would be looking a mess.  In case of an emergency, Mister is decent with her hair.  He is notorious for his two puff style.  It look a'ight.  Besides two puffs or twists, I keep trying to find fresh styles that are easy to do on Peyton's hair.  Her current favorite hair style is the donut bun aka ballerina bun.  You only need just enough hair to cover the donut to make this happen.

I've waited all my life for this... well Peyton's life.  The Kate Spade X Gap Kids collection has arrived!  Peyton and I got to shop the collection early at Lenox mall in Atlanta.  The collection was everything that we love about Kate Spade and Jack Spade in small proportions.

Temperatures have dropped to the low 30's in Georgia!  Hotlanta is now Coldlanta!  I broke out my fuzzy socks, hoodies and fleece pants.  All I need now is a warm drink.  Everyone and their mama is excited about these pumpkin drinks that come out in the fall.  I don't get what all the fuss is about, I don't care for them.  Plus, they are packed with unnecessary sugar and calories.  I created my own tummy warming drink with a twist using Sweet’N Low.

I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween weekend.  We also got an extra hour of sleep.  But let's keep it real, that extra hour means your kids are just up even earlier.  I was hoping that rolling our clocks back one hour would help me get Peyton into bed earlier but it didn't work. Fall Florals

If you were waiting for it or not, fall is in full swing.  Recently, I've been participating in a heated fashion debate at work.  Because Atlanta is still pretty warm, high 60's, the question is do you dress for the weather or the season?  Being the fashion girl that I am and I love fall fashion, I always say dress season appropriate.  I'm not saying if it hits 70 degrees you have to wear a sweater or wool coat but it's time to put up those summer dresses, booty shorts and linen pants away.  It pains me to see someone wearing Easter colors in the fall if it isn't a sweater or a coat.  There are several ways you can dress for the weather and still be season appropriate.  I found the perfect fall floral peasant top for the season.

Kids Fashion Week: Alivia Simone

Peyton and I attended our second Kids Fashion Week presented by Petite Parade this past weekend.  Peyton is a year older and boy did she enjoy it.  Peyton hammed it up for the paparazzi, made new friends and then told me she wanted to be in the shows when she turns five.  We'll add that to our vision board.  One designer I was excited to see was Alivia Simone.  The designers play on patterns and textures along with detailed design caught my attention earlier this year.  Here are some of my favorite looks that hit the runway from her Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
